Werabe University Hosts Staff Capacity Building Training on Scientific Writing and Research Proposal Development for Funding

January 15, 2026 – Werabe University recently organised a staff capacity-building training aimed at enhancing the research skills of university staff and promoting the development of high-quality, fundable research proposals.

The training was attended by members of Werabe University Academic Staff and was led by Professor Mirjana Pović from the Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute. During the sessions, Professor Pović emphasised the importance of excellence in science, inclusivity, and fostering global academic partnerships.

The program began with opening remarks delivered by Kedir Shifa, Head of the President’s Office, who highlighted the University’s ongoing commitment to strengthening research capacity and supporting staff professional development.

This initiative is part of Werabe University’s broader efforts to build a strong research culture, equip staff with essential academic skills, and enhance the university’s contribution to scientific and societal advancement.
